The Master’s program, structured within the Race Engineering track, aims to train highly qualified professionals with solid expertise in managing competition cars on track. Students of the Master’s will acquire specific, advanced skills in vehicle setup techniques, both virtually through CAE tools and experimentally by training on track with Formula and GT cars driven by professional drivers throughout the course. As an absolutely innovative element, the training path includes, alongside classroom learning, test sessions at Quattroruote’s ASC track, during which participants will be directly involved in learning the techniques and methodologies that define all Race Engineering activities (from vehicle management, to radio communications, to psychological aspects in the relationship with both the driver and the team). As a preparatory step, all participants will attend a specifically designed advanced driving course. Interaction with professional Race Engineers will be fundamental throughout the duration of the Master’s.

The Master’s training path is further enriched by targeted education on VI-Grade CarRealTime simulation software and CFD software, as well as a specific training module on the SkyDrive dynamic simulator at the Monza Circuit.

Graduates of the program will find opportunities within racing departments and teams competing in motorsport championships in Europe and worldwide. The expertise acquired during the course is of fundamental importance to enable participants to quickly and successfully integrate into a team. This professional engineering profile, highly sought after by the market, is currently not provided within the scope of existing academic education.

Several companies are involved in the Master’s program, in one or both tracks, including ASC, VI-Grade, McLaren, Pirelli, CD Adapco/Siemens, Seat, Thyssen Presta, AudiSport, ZF-TRW, Ycom, Brembo, Lamborghini, Continental, Prema, Trident, ADM Motorsport, Team Lazarus, JAS Motorsport, Tatuus, Autotecnica Motori, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Magneti Marelli, FCA, Abarth, Michigan Scientific, Michelin, Oreste Berta, PCB, Kistler, Danisi Engineering, Skydrive, Harp Racing, Corbetta Racing, PetriCorse, Imperiale Racing, Leomax, Porsche NTC, Aviorace, and Koni.

The current evolution of the Automotive and Motorsport sectors requires companies and teams to acquire highly trained human resources, not only from a theoretical and methodological perspective but also in the most innovative design and testing techniques currently available—areas that represent the core specialization of this Master’s program.

The Master’s program is open to candidates who have obtained a three-year Bachelor’s Degree (Diploma di Laurea Triennale) pursuant to D.M. 270/04, in one of the following degree classes:

  • (L-9) Industrial Engineering

Previous regulations and other accepted qualifications/exceptions:

  • (10) Industrial Engineering

Within the above classes, the following degrees will be considered preferential titles:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Nuclear Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Materials Engineering

Candidates holding a Specialist/Master’s Degree (Laurea Specialistica/Magistrale) pursuant to D.M. 509/99 and D.M. 270/04 in one of the following classes will also be considered eligible:

  • Aerospace and Astronautical Engineering – 25/S, LM-20
  • Automation Engineering – 29/S, LM-25
